A Letter from Ronda, Youth Services Coordinator, regarding this year's Summer Reading Program:

The Summer Reading Program, “Be Creative at the Princeton Public Library” was a huge success.  Our Finale was just awesome!!!!!! Entertainment from The Boom Squad, Integrity Martial Arts, Rivercity Clowns, Carol Bock facepainting and much more was enjoyed by over 400 children, adults and teens.  All of the prizes for reading hours were drawn and winners have been notified.
This year I had 379 children and teens signed up for the reading program.  We gave away 377 free books for completion of 8 hours of reading.  WOW!!!!!
I want to thank everyone who helped make the Summer Reading program successful.    This includes all of our sponsors, volunteers, staff, children, teens and parents. Monetary sponsors this year were:  TMMI, Inc., WalMart, the Cosmos Club, Patriot Motors, Dr. Krishna, Hall, Partenheimer & Kinkle, Watson Insurance, Colvin Funeral Home and Old National Bank.  We also received prizes and incentives from The Evansville Otters, CMOE Museum, Mesker Park Zoo, Indiana State Fair Commission, Holiday World & Splashin Safari, Ponderosa, Applebee’s Restaurant, Princeton Dairy Queen, Princeton Subway, BR Associates(Wendy’s & Long John Silver’s), & Bob Evans Restaurant.  The Parks & Recreation Department helped us sponsor the Lafayette Park Programs.
Volunteers helping with programs and presentations were:  Steve Johnson, Charlotte Hurst, Ernie Colbert, RiverCity Clowns, Chris & Lois McCulley, Greg Oeth & Dan Colbert from Indiana State Police, Wayne Hart from WEHT, Gibson County Sheriff’s Dept., Princeton Fire Dept., Dan Beard, Carol Bock, Integrity Martial Arts, the Boom Squad, Bob Zasadny, Brenda Wick, Tim Coomer, Caleb Duncan, Nicole Overton, Jared Owens, Elijah Wood, Joshua Davis and the TAG team members.  I am sure I have left someone out and so thank if I did.
I personally hope that next year will be even bigger and better!!!!!!
Thanks Again to All,
Ronda Colbert
Youth Services Coordinator
